"The politics of dancing, the politics of feeling good, the politics of movement, get this message on the floor--"
(3 Flags, circa 1983)

In case you've missed out on the big news, or little news, but guaranteed to make your life easier, there's a new URL for the Home Buoy:

Time to change the bookmarks.... and it's pretty simple, the message this month is it's all better now. Really. Everything is better. It's like a giant back to school sale, and you've got some brand new charge cards. What's even better, some one else is picking up the tab. What's up with the planets in general is that the apparent motion of a lot of them are moving in what astrologers call a "positive" direction. Of course, lots of positives are surely going to overcoming any negatives. There's still that Saturn Dance going on, but that's like Saturn itself: old news. And Jupiter is still being truculent, but that means we can all enjoy a minor break from a big player. Mars will spend most of the month in Leo whereas Venus and Mercury play tag through Virgo. Get ready for a better month. Just because August was a trying time, especially for certain fixed fire signs, doesn't mean that the fall isn't going to be better. And it depends on how you want to look at it, but things should either be heating up or cooling off -- pick the best metaphor for your situation -- by the time the equinox rolls around, when the sun moves into Libra.

Aries: You got everything good -- everything you could possibly want -- right here at the Austin Flea Market, from Elvis Tapestries to geniune stimulated leather oddities. Now, if you don't live in Austin area, then maybe the flea market isn't exactly what you're looking for, but this is a good month to shop for some deals. Retail therapy may not sound like the best concept right now, but shopping for a deal is a good idea. There's a nice lift you get from Jupiter, even though he's not in the best possible position for you, he's also not in the best place for that Merchant you're going to haggle with, as well. And shopping is like other sports, it never hurts to look. You just never know what you might stumble across this month.

Taurus: The sign of the bull has an ancient heritage -- one that clearly predates the other signs. Why is your sense of Taurus inheritance important this month? Mars spends most of the month pushing your buttons and it's going to take some prehistoric Taurus patience to help you make it through the month. But it's my wager that you make it just fine. While the shopping metaphor isn't such a bad idea, you might want to practice waiting in line to get the best deal. It takes a true Taurus, a good Taurus, like yourself, in order to wait this one out. That Martian influence only lasts for a few days.

Gemini: You should be humming a merry little tune right now. All the uncomfortable energy, foul movement of the planets, retrogrades, eclipses and so forth are done. Well not really -- but close enough for Gemini land. Predictions are easy for you for this month: it's better, no matter what you touch, it's better. You've been down for so long that anything is up. Some of your ideas are finally starting to take hold. Of course, no one ever seems to move fast enough for you, but I kept telling you to be patient, and now that "patient" comment should begin to pay off. There's nothing like delivering a few results to a Gemini in order to make them happy. And I figure your just results are one their happy little way this month.

Cancer: You're going to take one look at your old Buddy Kramer here, and think to yourself, "Self, what's he been doing all summer? Too much Texas Sun?" But I'm not the one who is fried. You're going to feel like you're on the up and down ride at the fair again this month. This is the ride that swings up and down, and then spins you around, and it does the best it can to make you spew that last hot dog. The problem is, about the time the State Fair of Texas is opening, you start on the down part of the ride. Cotton candy, the sticky pink stuff, is the best medicine for this wild ride. For some reason, the pink medicine seems to soothe your upset tummy, and then you're ready for another ride. Don't you just love the State Fair?

Leo: It's better already. Didn't I tell you that? Oh, sure, Mars is now in your sign all month long, bringing a certain amount of healing energy to your sign. And after last month, I'm sure you could use that sort of thing, a little extra lift to help you put everything back together. I wonder if that's "heeling" energy because some one needs to haul in on the controls a little. You don't want to be moving so fast that you miss the best fishing spot. This Mars activity can be a wild ride. The trick this month is to find that one sweet spot with the Martian Energy, a fine and delicate balance point. Do that, and you're a winner all month long.

Virgo: There always seems like there's this one special Virgo, you know who you are, and it seems like I always miss her birthday? Ever seen a Virgo with an attitude? It ain't pretty, cute maybe, but not pretty. So don't worry about the difference between cute and pretty this month -- Venus is comfortable in Virgo most of the month. With Venus, the fine line between pretty and cute isn't going to matter too much. There's an abiding appreciation of the fine arts this month, the good things in life despite the fact that it all feels a little unseasonably warm, like summer isn't really over. There's a little extra astrological heat that keeps you going this month.

Libra: This month starts out like it's still a little too hot from the summer. But about the time of the Equinox, that's the beginning of Libra, you notice a sudden shift. The days are cooler. The fish are hitting your topwater plugs more often. Life is suddenly better. This just happens to coincide with some special Libra birthdays, but I wouldn't want to just pander to them. It does feel better for the whole sign. This fall is going to bring some big changes. Some of these are anticipated, and some of these changes, well, it's a good thing that ya'll are willing to adapt because there might be something new and a little unexpected coming along -- but in a good way, of course.

Scorpio: After the last month or so, you're going to latch on to anything I say, twist it around in that fine Scorpio mind, and then you will sneer back at me, "See, I told you so." But before you snarl at me, consider this: Mars is going to lean heavily on you all month long. More so at the beginning than at the end, but you get the idea. While dealing with the heavy-handed Martian energy, remember to be a little more careful than usual. Mr. Mars can work on you like one of those battery advertisings things, constantly going. Or he can irritate you to no end. You make the call.

Sagittarius: Like the nice astrologer says at the beginning, things are definitely looking up. Of course, even when things weren't so hot, you know, you did okay. So I wouldn't worry about too many troubles right now. I know it's not going to feel like you are making any great strides forward, but I'm sure if you look back, you can see your success. This is a little extra lift from certain planets, a strange but altogether useful little angle wherein on of the faster moving planets makes a slow pass at your sign. Put it to use. Get ready to engage your own, personal interstellar overdrive. You've been waiting for this all summer, and now that the summer is over, you can use the extra power. It's like a little octane booster for the outboard motor.

Capricorn: After what you've been through this summer, a subtle shove isn't going to make a lot of difference. But if you're careful, and if you listen to your old astrology fishing buddy, then this gentle nudge will work wonders. It' s a suggestion that you are repeating certain patterns, and you can stop doing the same thing, over and over.... I realize it comes across as a bit of a joke, but there is pattern which you established this summer, and you need to do something to break out of the rut you established for yourself. I know you can do it, it's just a matter of doing something a little different. This pattern was really established along about last January, around the King's birthday, and there's a little lunar thing around Labor Day which boosts this chance to break the pattern. It's like using a piece of artificial bait when everyone else is using live worms.

Aquarius: I know I told everyone else that things were going to be getting better just about any minute now. While that's true, you're still stuck in a holding pattern, circling the airport, waiting for Clearance to Land. That's the bad news. The good news is that this holding pattern is over an exotic destination. The term "exotic destination" is wide open to a variety of interpretations, but I'll promise, you will be landing, any minute now. For some people, an exotic destination might be just outside the city limits, or just over yonder in another county. For others, it could be very far away, like, perhaps, halfway around this globe. In any case, you will receive the news that you can go ahead and proceed to whatever your exotic destination is, by the end of this month.

Pisces: I know that the rest of the zodiac is getting pretty upset because I keep telling Pisces how wonderful everything is, and please send me 1% of the gross take. So far, I've collected, well, it's not enough to report to the IRS, that's for sure. I think it's a less than a buck. However, there is still some good luck, "here's your big chance," get rich quick scheme, still waiting to fall into a Pisces lap. And this has happened to a few already, so someplace, there's a Pisces or two holding out on me. I'm waiting, patiently. And I'll keep telling you how good it is. There's not the trouble that some people keep telling you about. Oh, to be sure, there are a few details you need to sort out, but I have faith in Pisces. Really, I do.
