Buffett in Houston

Seeing Jimmy Buffett in Houston on a Thursday night? Not like this is my first time.

“That place was called, ‘The Summit,’ the Rockets played there.”

The show itself was good, and amplified music covers a plethora audio sins, but the band, as usual, appeared tight.

Two audio snippets stand out. Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band covered Lyle Lovett’s song, “If I had a Boat.” But earlier in the set, Buffett was doing one of his songs, “The Great Filling Station Hold-up,” with audio discourse at the end, inserting lyric and licks from “Midnight Rider” as a humorous analog.

Carried bug spray. Used it. Noticed another one for the fineprint.

Repel mosquitoes that may carry West Nile Virus.

Ah Houston, we love you.
