I’ve been checking out books, talks, and videos on improvisational theatre lately in my ongoing efforts to get better as a blues musician. There is something basically mysterious about improvising music and the more I try to understand it the more I am forced to accept that life is miraculous in a lot of ways that are outside the grasp of my mind.
While I’m not a musician, the skill set is both transparent and easily adapted to other art forms.
