Passing through Waco, headed into the freezing maw of north Texas winter weather, thinking frozen north. The traffic on the interstate crawled to a stop. Middle of an afternoon, clear skies, no rain, no reason.
Construction.
My entire life, 35 (Interstate 35) has been under construction.
I blame Magnolia. The home flippers, redo experts? Stars of HGTV? Yeah, that’s where houses are still cheap. The town’s main industry is Baylor University?
While sitting in yet another medical waiting room, the HGTV series was running in the background. Up-do, re-do, and house prices in rural Texas.
Traffic. It’s all their fault. Joanna and Chip, yeah, their fault. Too bad they only do houses, and not highways.
Nobody should be forced to spend time in Waco — against his or her own will.
You choose to live there? It is a nice place. But make it a choice, not camped out on the freeway.

Every picture tells a story, don’t it?
So the images, the first, as I was set to sail off and attend to my own wee mum, I grabbed the latest copy of the New Yorker, and picked a cartoon out. Seemed appropriate.
Then, motoring down the road to Dallas, my dear, sweet friend Elaine shoots me the other picture. Much younger me.
The story about us meeting stretches back more than 25 years, maybe further into the distant past. The image she just posted to me, that must be from a good 20 years back.

Mercury is Retrograde.
Usual cautions apply.
This year’s Pisces Season is extra special between the mostly Retrograde Mercury and the plethora of planets in Capricorn? There’s the added dose of confusion and non-reality spread by Neptune and its nebulous influences.
Pisces is a water sign. It is mutable sign. It’s the emotional, empathic, spiritual sign, and it is associated with the 12th House, cf., barefoot-astrology for details.
The card from my preferred deck? The Moon is the Pisces card.
O, swear not by the moon, th’ inconstant moon,
That monthly changes in her circled orb,
Lest that thy love prove likewise variable.
