Transcendental BBQ. Food in general, but the BBQ itself is amazing, and in Central Texas, that is a bold statement. However, meeting a buddy for what looked like a drug deal, we were exchanging an ARC — Advanced Reading Copy — of an up and coming novel, and we agreed to meet at Chuck’s — CBQ Smokehouse.

I was worn out from repeated Austin commutes and associated familial holiday obligations.

The young lady behind the bar at CBQ — Scorpio, as I had to inquire — she sported some fetching ink. After some discussion about Sagittarius, Gemini, and Scorpio, I glanced down at her wrist ink.
