I asked, after the barista dude got done flirting with the girl in line, ahead of me. Crawling out of his left sleeve was some colorful skin art. I asked his birthday.
“Cancer. It’s water sign. I’m also year of the dragon,” he continued, and then pushed the t-shirt’s sleeve up a little, “in Japan, the coy swim upstream, and when they finally arrive, they get turned into a dragon.”
His arm art showed the story, a classical golden carp, turning into a dragon.
