LIBRA approx. Sept. 24-Oct. 22
Symbol: The Scales
Ruled by: Venus and maybe Chiron
House: 7th House (it used to be the wedding house)
Flavor: I’ve got a special flavor, one I’ve been working on for a while, and it seems to fit the Libra sensibilities, and my own personal sense of place, rather well. Take two of the greatest flavors around, one would be Pecan Pie and the other would be Chocolate, and combine the two. The flavor can be adjusted to suit just about every Libra, but the idea is the same, two for one. It’s a deal. Chocolate Pecan Pie. It’s got chocolate and it’s got really a Pecan Pie so it combines the best of several worlds. This is a hit with the Libra because chocolate is regarded by many as a major food group, and the Pecans, especially in Texas, are a native fruit that makes this healthy dish. And for the odd Libra with a strange influence in the astrology chart, perhaps regular chocolate can be replaced with a dark, bittersweet variety, just for pleasant change.
Grocery store: I’ve been shopping with enough Libra’s to know that nothing will escape them. But if you’re planning on this being a quick trip to the store, be prepared for a longer lasting event. The Libra will probably peruse the diet foods, the foods with reduced fat, no calories, and other useless group of food. The heart and soul of Libra is caught up in sweet food. Music: Musically, the Libra range is all over the place. However, there is a common form that seems to appeal to a lot, and the music needs to be melodious. It has to be pleasing to the ear. Variegated guitar threads which have no beat usually don’t work. It has to sound nice.
Walmart at midnight: By midnight, the archetypical Libra has had some relaxing times, and has a playful attitude at the super store. Of course, this apparent lackadaisical attitude is not without some side effects which are worthy of note. Bright, shiny objects, whether it is a chrome mud flap girl or the snaps on a new Wrangler shirt seem to attract the Libra attention. Cosmetics, perfumes, the soft feel of a bolt of Rayon cloth, all of this attracts their Libra gaze. Be prepared to spend a little bit of time looking at the objects because shopping with a Libra can be a little agonizing. They have to decide, and making a decision can be hard for a Libra.
Brick wall: Brick walls with Libra’s are fun, particularly if you have warped sense of humor. Face a Libra with a definite binary question. Yes or No. Black or white. ÒIt’s kind of a gray area, really….” In computer terms, itÕs either on or itÕs off. 1 or 0. “Well, itÕs sort of in the middle, you know….” A Libra can see both sides of a problem, and this gives them a chance to render a fair and impartial decision. But in front of that brick wall, the Libra will bounce from foot to foot, thinking, “I’ve got to get over this thing, but you know, some one put this wall here in the first place, and itÕs here for a reason, and maybe we shouldn’t tackle it….”
Bait: Minnow with 3-D eyes — This is going to come as a bit of a surprise, but the Libra target fish needs to feel like its bait has soul. And what better way to show soul with the eyes, those little things poets call windows to the soul? When you select a lure for a Libra, be extra careful about color combinations, too. Avoid garish and tacky colors, tending towards delicate shades of blue with silver or golden scales. And eyes, nice eyes, realistic, 3-D eyes.
Revenge: Unjust, decisive, and illogical. Drives them crazy.
Body part: Kidneys, ovaries and lower back.

SUN in LIBRA
Your intellectual orientation makes you desire a compromise between passion and intellect. You strive for objectivity and want time to make decisions. You have a certain need to be liked and are reluctant to engage in confrontations except as mental exercise or debatable points of law. Should have been a lawyer. Know any good lawyer jokes? You can be charming and witty, but this really hides your approach of an iron fist in a velvet glove. Like a Scorpio, you give back in kind what has been received, although the Libra comes across as more balanced. You are often flirtatious and romantic, but this is turned off if physical attraction is not balanced by intellectual rapport. It makes sense, too, because you derive physical and psychological pleasure from beauty.
You are probably a lover of books, music, clothes, and flowers, and your environment must be aesthetically pleasing. You are capable of good manners and diplomacy, which is good, too, because you need partnership and association with other people, but you dislike crowds. You will find that your physical stamina runs in cycles. I have a strong indication that you have a strong desire for rich foods, especially sweets.
Some musicians who were born under this sign include Gershwin, Dizzy Gillespie, Liszt, and Pavarotti. Recommended listening should include: Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 4,” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4.”
Although you seem dedicated to putting best foot forward, and maybe many people find you both charming and polite, and despite appearing fond of books, music, or art, you are emotionally detached and not eagerly cooperative. When your physical or mental environment is off balance you can become cross, demanding or tyrannical. You are probably physically very attractive or strive to be, and you are fond of luxuries, food, physical comfort, dressing well and enhancing your appearance with cosmetics and other beauty aids. You are likely to be strongly romantic, maybe interested in interior design, architecture, and the law, but you are certainly prone to more than average periodic laziness.
Notable Libra Ascendants: Gregg Allman, Jon Bon Jovi, David Bowie, Joseph Campbell, Pierre Cardin, Chevy Chase, Winston Churchill, Eric Clapton, Bill Clinton, Alice Cooper, Bing Crosby, Xavier Cugat, Jeffrey Dahmer, T.S. Eliot, Harrison Ford, Jerry Garcia, Crystal Gayle, Amy Grant, Rock Hudson, John F. Kennedy, Carole King, David Koresh, (Susanne) Nena, Bob Newhart, Yoko Ono, Willis Alan Ramsey, Frank Sinatra, Debra Winger, and Natalie Wood.
MOON in LIBRA
This is sometimes called “the curse of the Libra Moon” because it makes for an emotional side which is “relationship challenged.” Just because you’re romantic, though not overly passionate, you might find it hard to live alone. And you certainly dislike being emotionally compromised. Still, your greatest accomplishments are motivated by stimulation from others. You have a strong desire to cooperate and need to be liked. Ever notice that you are better planning than carrying out actions? You aesthetic tastes are found in your fondness for being well-dressed. Too bad, too, because you also have a taste for rich food. You like either some, or all, of the following: books, art, music, the law and legal matters.
Examples of Libra Moon people: Jane Austen, Jim Bakker, Irma Bombeck, Sir Richard Burton, George Bush, Nicholas Cage, Truman Capote, Belinda Carlisle, Fidel Castro, Agatha Christie, Tony Curtis, Emily Dickinson, Walt Disney, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Henry Fonda, Mel Gibson, Derek Jacobi, Billy Joel, Julian Lennon, Leon Russell, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Staubach, Twyla Tharp, Steven Tyler, Al Unser, Oriville Wright, and Wilbur Wright.
