I thought the funniest was to offer “Free Palm Readings” on Sunday.Aries
I’ve written, forgotten, and posted more about this topic than I care to recall. However, in the long haul, and what we should consider, moving forward in Aries-land, happy birthday and all? Especially the March Aries placements in a chart? It has to do with religion, dogma, and spirituality. I am by no means an expert. I’ve just dabbled in a myriad of systems, learned about a few, know something about prayer and meditation, and I know what I’ve felt. By willing to be aware, by willing to be observant, and by willing to be quiet long enough for the miracle to happen? That’s the big birthday secret. This is a long-lasting impact, and there’s a strong spiritual/religious/mystical connection. Only gets stronger, but it’s one that must be nurtured, and the easiest way for anyone else? Do nothing. Since “doing nothing” isn’t a very Aries trait, let’s find a happy midpoint. Do something, but define it yourself. Look: I tend to make coffee in the morning, and before I’ve actually had any caffeine, that serves as a moment of meditation, listen to the birds singing or whatever, and then, get an idea how to move forward. Next? Or, as some would suggest, next right move for Aries? Ask yourself.
Taurus
I casually “study” Shakespeare. His birthday is approaching, and the academic pundits all suggest Shakespeare is Taurus (Sun Sign). Fact is, very is little known about Shakespeare’s life, leaving it wide open to all kinds of interesting interpretations. It’s a name attached to some plays, a volume of work that, stylistically, hangs together. But I only casually study this stuff, more than a mere hobbyist, but certain less than a scholarly scholar. I do what amuses me. However, that gave rise to the idea of using a quote at the beginning of each horoscope. It’s not the only source of inspiration, but it’s a safe one. For Taurus? A safe source of inspiration is what works. In more than three decades, my introductory Shakespeare quote has only offended on one occasion, and I’m not sure about that. People are going to be offended no matter what I do; there’s always a portion of the general population that doesn’t like whatever it is. To help, for Taurus? Look for as safe a source as possible. Shakespeare’s canon, because I liked the astrology therein, thrilled me as a source, and relatively speaking, it is innocuous. Plus, and here’s the Taurus ticker, it is amusing. Got some meat on its bones, something to play with, as well.Gemini
This will be a little long and convoluted, but if it was easy? I wouldn’t be interested. Decades in the past, Topo Chico was a bottled water from Mexico, and it was cheap, local thing, for a while. Two events occurred: one? It got “discovered.” And two? A multinational conglomerate — Coca-Cola — bought Topo Chico. The appeal — for me — was multifaceted. There was an ironic ideal of buying water from Mexico, then, too, the rustic glassware, the bottle, without a screw-off top? I got to where I carried a bottle-cap opener with my gear. Standing in line in a swanky coffee shop, I got a bottle of Topo to go with my diminutive demitasse of espresso. Handed the bottle back to the kid behind the counter, “Can you open this? It doesn’t have a screw-off top?” I don’t know if the pain, the expression, the confusion was feigned or real, momentary panic, a bottle that doesn’t offer a self-opening option? It’s an age thing, “So how do you open these?” An older counter worker stepped in, grabbed the perfunctory bottle opener behind the counter, and popped the cap off my Topo Chico. The kid shrugged. I smiled. But which one are you? An unopened bottle of fizzy water that requires a real bottle opener? The new kid who’s never seen one? The helpful co-worker? The garrulous guys waiting in line, grumbling?Cancer
An old self-help text from days gone by resurfaced. While I don’t necessarily recommend the book itself, “Everything I need to know I learned in kindergarten,” the full title, the message carried by the little collection of aphorisms? That sums up this week’s sign of the crab, the Moon Children, Cancer’s missive. You know this; it was taught as a child’s lesson. You learned this in early childhood; there is nothing new under the Aries/Libra Full Moon. Nothing new. What did you know that has resurfaced? That’s really more of the question, as there are memories and ideas — early childhood, late education — material that you know, that you learned, or acquired, one way or another? Not new stuff, really, but a good time to look it over one last time. You know what? Everything you need to know you probably learned in kindergarten. Milk, cookies, nap? Sounds good. The Leo
The Full Moon is about “harvest,” and in my current thinking, I tend to list everything that’s happened that I am grateful for. That’s my emotional harvest. The deal is, make the gratitude list, or whatever it is that your good Leo self does to show gratitude. Hint: we got stuff up and coming, and I’m in the process of getting you ready. That’s a moment, a few days ahead, not this week, but the weeks after? There’s a situation, a person, people, politics, something that royally pisses you off. I mean royally, as only efforts the majestical sign of The Leo. Get ahead of this by looking at what you’re grateful for, and get ready for what that new moon will eventually usher in, but be warned, not this week, but the weeks following? Someone — something — some situation? One, or more, of those are doing there best to get you to show anger.Virgo
There’s a very scattered energy infecting the good Virgo. Not a bad energy at all, just all over the place at once. What I hear? “I’m doing this, this, and that, all right now.” I’m male, so, I tend to not multitask as well as some. I’m good on one point, and sticking to that singular direction until I arrive at a stopping place. Then I’m on the next part of the process, in order, not skipping, and not trying to do three at once. The energy on fast approach towards gentle Virgo is one that refracts and scatters the single beam of light into a myriad of hues, a veritable rainbow of colors. Scattered energy, infects Virgo. Understand what’s there; understand that that you’re normally pedantic, pointed, poignant pacing gets disrupted by ideas, distractions, or new knowledge of better answers and perhaps, a better way to get this done, and we need to change directions now. Or go back to what we were doing. Scattered energy isn’t bad, just remember to leave markers so you can pick up where you abruptly left off.Libra
Someone sent me a sticker, had a caricature of William Shakespeare with a thought bubble, “I put the ‘LIT’ in literature.” On the one side, the sticker was sticky, and on the other side, it was the printed message. On the one side, Shakespeare was a one of the first recorded authors to give serious psychological depth to the characters he created. On other side, not many of his stories resolve into pure “happily ever after,” much like real life. There were some carousing, drinking, carrying on, and such behavior in some plays. Regrettably, my command of the vernacular and the vulgar, I’m not sure exactly what “lit” is supposed to mean, but from context, I surmise it means fun, amusing, and otherwise entertaining. Or “lit up like an Xmas tree.” Not sure, perhaps someone can enlighten me. But the notion that there is some kind of a bright spot, about to happen? That I can see for sure. Could be a small token gesture, or it can be a grand gift that makes everything all better. Either way, Libra is going to be “lit.”Scorpio
Stupid, insipid inspirational quote rolled through my feeds.”You’re not lost: you’re just early in the process.” I felt that one. I detest bumper sticker wisdom, which, anymore is just memes and those get recycled and adulterated beyond recognition. It was the comment, though, about not being lost, not really confused, just early in the process. That one hit close, and one that I’ve felt, more than once, over the years. Takes me back to a cold-water bed-sit in old East Austin. I was in a sketchy neighborhood, and I was toiling away, working towards a goal that I wasn’t sure what it was, but I knew it had a destination. All rather nebulous, no? For good ship Scorpio? Stay on course, and stay afloat. You’re not lost; you’re early in the process.Sagittarius
“Seize the day?” Carpe Diem — that’s the fancy Latin exclamation that gets bantered about. I used to play with it, “Carp diem,” as “fish of the day,” and at one time, Austin’s Town Lake was one of the largest urban carp fisheries. As much as seizing the day seems like a good idea, and worthy of the expression, and certainly a noble Sagittarius pursuit? I’m thinking, roll over, roll out of bed, and maybe grab a big stick, and just sort of poke at the day. No seizing, no jumping up and running, no latching on with both hands, and then trying to wring the life out of the day. Maybe just test this one a little. Been a long, and strange set of circumstances impacting gentle Sagittarius, and instead of coming out of the chute, ready to rumble? Maybe, let’s just see where this goes, first. Uncharacteristic for Sagittarius? Eyes down, don’t make contact, mumble “hello,” and wait to see what happens. We’re still toying with Saturn, Venus, and leavened with Mercury to make it all more interesting. Poke. Poke at it, don’t jump. No “seizing the day,” either.Capricorn
Trite, bumper sticker wisdom? “Everyday isn’t going to be a good day, but you can face every day with a good attitude.” I guess it’s a little long for a bumper sticker, but it’s the same kind of material that we see, some of us, too frequently. Hopeful, uplifting, and not Capricorn realistic at this time. The realist in you see the challenges ahead, and the realist in you accepts that there will be problems, obstacles, issues, and an attitude. Can’t fix that. Can fix your dour Capricorn attitude, though. That might help. It’s not an insurmountable obstacle, it’s a learning experience. There’s a level of learning to understand that there are some obstacles that can’t be easily overcome. Instead of trying to climb over the impossibly tall problem? Look for a way around it. Under it. Off to one side or another. We’re looking for solutions, and they are there, but adjust that sour Capricorn attitude, first. Maybe not “happy,” but understand that there is a way through this. Around this, over, under, something.Aquarius
Discussing this with one client, I kept getting that blank look, as if I wasn’t getting across in my convoluted descriptions. Looking at the planets, as they are, and Venus unwinding, just a bit, I kept thinking about that interaction, and figure that’s what The Aquarius visage will look like, in the coming days. It’s a blank look. It’s the face of complete and utter lack of comprehension. Or, it’s a face that doesn’t want to show what’s going on under the skin. I’m not sure. One of those. Or, perhaps, with that delicate balance point, both of those? Understand part of what happens, but don’t care? Care, but don’t show it? Care about the topic, understand what’s said, but none of this is germane to Aquarius well-being? See how this goes? Think of yourself as a blank slate, or what looks like a blank slate, a face with no visual cues as to likes, dislikes, and disturbances. Not indifferent but not invested, at this moment. Soon? There will be a time get involved, invested, and emotionally carried away. This isn’t the time. “How very interesting.”Pisces
Bad typo: last week? I used a quote from Prince Harry, or Prince Hal, in Shakespeare’s Henry IV, part 2, usually cited as 2 Henry 4. Only, in the original, I had mistyped when I was popping in the play’s number, and what I found on the final proofreading? Henry VI, part 2. Which is a play, and would’ve made it past a number of lesser fact-checkers, but Hal is eventually crowned Henry the Fifth, in a play with the same name, and he conquers France, and the rest is historical. In some Shakespeare studies, two items come to mind, one, Henry VI (parts 1, 2, & 3) were written long before the two Henry IVs and V. The second point, I like, the Henry VI plays were — probably — done with another playwright.
