Sounds like “got milk” but it’s more along the lines of “got problems?”
Problems:
Happened a couple of times, folks come up to me, “Hey, I heard you lecture last year, you were funny,” and then get a reading someplace else.
Accolades are nice, but that doesn’t pay the bills.
There’s the other side, too, “I saw you a while back, and you know, you were funny – and right.”
Unrelated:
I was reading the latest (to me) Robert Rankin book, and I discovered a – typical for that author – literary device wherein the last line of a section in a chapter would be the same as the first line of the next section – albeit, different characters, scene, sense and so forth.
It’s a clever trick, and I got to thinking, no reason why I couldn’t do that one week, with the scopes. More like a challenge rather than a literary device.
Even more unrelated:
Three Virgo dinner. At Threadgills, like that’s any surprise….
Once more, news about that “opera.”
