Los Lost Pinos

I’m surprised no one had marketed it as such, although, as a stray observer, perhaps a bit on the strange side, I’m also surprised none of the earth-muffin, granola-headed eco-tourists have discovered the place. Probably scared off by Boy Scouts in the summer, and bass boat armada on the weekends, running and gunning. But on a bucolic weekday afternoon? With two boat trailers in the parking lot? It’s a good place to be.

With Austin setting a new record for being hot this early, and some of the state already hitting triple digit temperatures, the clouds and the wind was welcome.

A week ago we were in triple digits; yesterday we huffed and puffed and made it to 60 degrees at midday. And rain. Rain! In late May? I’ve lived in southern California for (cough, cough) years and we’ve NEVER had rain this late in the year. Just remember: we are NOT experiencing climate change. Or global warming.
