Moral

Why a company fishing trip is always in order.

The beatings will continue until the morals improve

Funny thing, that. Slipped past an editor, a high-dollar editor, and much hilarity did ensue. Supposed to read, “The beatings will continue until the morale improves.” Some editors don’t have enough of a sense of humor. And my humor is twisted, arcane, and difficult to understand, at times.

“Humor? That passes for humor in your world?”

Heard that, too. From friends, no less. As I’m fond of saying, no, you don’t have to laugh; it’s not that funny.

Only goes to show that I’m right more often than editors. Not that it matters, I still don’t have an editor – or an agent. Many promises, no luck.

I’ll agree that your sense of humor is arcane and more than a bit off-the-wall. Actually, off the hook might be more appropriate. You can choose your own definition of hook (or crook). My own is a bit abstruse at times and I find people looking at me (or their eyes glaze over) and I revert to human standard, leaving the flighty alien behind. On the back porch.

    Voted for you.
