I’ve recorded this elsewhere, but for the life of me, I can’t recall the exact location, and the search engines are no luck.
However, one time, I’m thinking it was a fall day or a winter’s eve in England, my father and I ascended the 512 steps to the top of Britain’s – London’s – St. Paul’s Cathedral. Up, through the whispering dome, and onward, to the top of the cupola.
I’m guessing he was late 70s at the time. “Not bad for an old man,” is what he said. I can’t be sure about that exact quotation, but it sounds like he would.
