Granola

How about a nut mix?

Simple recipe, it started from a clipping from a magazine that someone gave someone and a friend of a friend forwarded to to me. Original concoction:

1 cup (unsalted) pecans
1 cup blanched almonds
1 cup Englsih walnut pieces
1/2 cup dried apricots, quartered
1/2 cup dried cranberries

There was something else – I don’t recall what. The dried apricots were supposed to be chopped into quarters, but I found sixths to be more palatable. Then it came time ot change and modify.

Bulk Almonds, no salt
Bulk Pecans, no salt
Bulk Walnut Pieces, no salt
Raisons
Dried Cranberries

Mix and mingle, see what proportions are best. Like this for an all-day snack, no salt, no refined sugar except for a little in that cranberry, I think.

Last weekend, twice my mix was referred to as “granola.” Which it’s not. But that’s not the point.
