As seen on TV!

45 seconds of fame. Not so much. Clip is here. Special thanks to fredlet for the rip and burn.

A few comments, or let me say this about that – they cut almost two hours of my time down to 45 seconds. I was blind-sided and ambushed by the crew. In that respect, I think I acquitted myself well.

Saturn Lessons:

Saturn is a mean taskmaster of a teacher. His lessons can be easy or hard. Me? I tended to make all of the Saturn lesson difficult until I reached a point – beaten down – to grasp and understand the nature of the lesson. I can only hope that the “darling Gemini” can learn that lesson as well.

“Thanks a lot,” and “Yeah, right,” were her comments.

For the astrologically inclined, and not revealing too much information, at least none that isn’t currently available on the web? Her rising sign, to the degree, matched up with Saturn. She was in the middle of a Saturn Return, happens between 28-31 years old, Saturn returns to it’s original spot at birth. I’ve written about Saturn Returns at length. But the cowboy was a Capricorn. Sign associated with Saturn. Her Saturn Return. His Saturn on top of her rising sign.

What got clipped? Sometimes the teacher learns from the student as much as the student learns from the teacher. In this situation?

Sit through the whole (train wreck) show and make your own call.

TV

The allusion to Llano and welding? We talked about fishing, ranching, how poor the local school district was, the cowboy was home schooling his family, and BBQ. I mentioned a place in Llano (TX) for BBQ, and he said it was his cousin, or uncle or something.

He mentioned something about fixing fences, and I noted that I knew a good welder in the El Paso area: Ken’s Portable Welding. (Mr. Grace, if you will.)

Later, after wrapping the shoot, I was still talking to the rancher and the hippie chick. She appeared to be shut down. The rancher, he loaded half a package of Lew Garret (chewing tobacco) into his cheek.

“I got to get to work, I need to buy some horse hay.”

“How much you need?” I asked.

He looked me up and down, me shod in sandals and that Hawaiian shirt.

“I buy it by the tractor-trailer.” I think he smirked at me around his chew.

I hit a number on my speed dial. Client of mine. Sells horse hay. By the tractor trailer load.

They made a deal.

All I want to know is what motivated that old boy to do such a stupid thing. 15 minutes of fame? Moolah?

Some people are not too pleased with reality; they’d rather that reality were reconstructed to suit their world view (didn’t we just have a president like that?).

My generation–we were so sure we were right. Guess what. We made mistakes, too, as have all generations before us. I look back and I think, “How could we not have seen the fallout from our actions?” Actions which needed to be taken, but still….

She wasn’t happy that she had to learn from him; some day she’ll understand that you learn most from enemies, opponents, control freaks–and heal best with friends, lovers, astrologers.
