I thought it was a special on the History Channel, but alas, I was mistaken. Not the first, nor will it be the last. Never claimed to be right all the time. It was on whatever MTV is currently billed as. I recorded the show because, I thought, The Who toured a year or two ago. Two years ago, looks like, maybe three.
Before CSI TV co-opted The Who for theme songs, after the commercial excess of Tommy, there was a piece of music that caught my attention, first as a pre-teen, I’m guessing. Quadrophenia, the rock opera. Personal fave. Colored my perceptions. Historically important, and musically, apparently, a work of staggering genius.
The special was billed at two hours but worked out to only about an hour and half, and minus commercial breaks, station plugs and promo material? Maybe an hour. Teenage wasteland, indeed.
There’s a series of horoscopes that’s going to be colored by this music, though. I’m sure of that. Last Xmas, I bought myself the CD (set), it was sort of on sale. Wrapped it up and stuck it under the Xmas tree. There’s a metaphor there, I’m sure, in and of itself.
Couple of days after Xmas, ripped the music onto an iPod, and the rest is recent aural history.
So that “special” about the Who? Good stuff.
Are you asking:
When will I find someone special?
Should I find another job?
Why is my life so challenging?
And when will these changes end?
A personal consultation with Kramer can help, in person or on the phone.
“The Who” was favorite group during a pivotal time in my life. I can remember driving, driving, driving and listening to music and thinking/remembering and trying to make the best decision I could. The music helped, I don’t know why, part of the gestalt.
