Santa Fe and its surrounding environs was subtle and rich in texture. Then, too, there’s the slightly off-beat, or my version, back roads. Like State 14, from Historic Route 66, up behind the Sandia Crest, through Madrid and Cerrillos, and into Santa Fe. Past the Santa Fe County Lock-up. Never been there. Didn’t even get out of the car for a picture.

Best store in Santa Fe, NM? No web page. Just a name, and just what you might think – a store full of stuff made by monks. Monk coffee, monk art, monk cards. The Monk’s Corner.
