    A calla lily
    lifts its crimson head—all eyes
    turn to admire it.

I have a whole bed of those lilies (I thought they were asian lilies) which started out at 4 plants and nativized in my backyard and multiplied to fill the bed completely. Now they’re glorious orange red when we get enough moisture for them to grow. Tall, too, and quite eye catching.
