Austin Original

Red Monday image:

Only in Austin!

Hot tip:
I’m not a chocolate guy. That substance doesn’t work for me. Just doesn’t do it. However, at that store, along with the famous chocolate covered strawberry?

Habanero (pecan) pralines. Really, really good stuff. Spicy and yet, not quite too hot.

Unrelated:
Looking at the Kevin Smith (personal fave) debacle and the problem with SWA, I landed on this about married names. Far more important.

The savory praline candy seems like a winner, alas in New England, pecans seem more an afterthought. Red candy is great in any season, the Christmas/February overlap doesn’t bother me, sweet is sweet anytime!

    Yummy strawberries, love the sign,

  • chubskulit Feb 15, 2010 @ 21:26

    That is sweet!

    Celebrated it with Dad

  • TheCunningRunt Feb 15, 2010 @ 22:51

That sounds too good! New England lacks that kind of sensibility.

Where in Austin is it, I’ve never seen it. Cross streets? It’s a great capture! Happy Ruby Tuesday.

I love pralines, but not the habanero peppers.

Austin, like, between 51st an 53rd Street, on Airport. Landmark institution, of sorts. Quite the VD racket, too.

  • Kathy Feb 16, 2010 @ 9:50
