Red Monday

Fran’s Hamburgers. Nothing personifies “Austin” the way a trip to Fran’s can. For me, it’s even better. I first landed in Austin, between Fran’s and Tamale House #3. Back in the day. It’s one of the touchstones, always there, always the same.

For a Ruby Tuesday image, the original sign:

Fran’s
since 1973

Hardware: iPhone
Software: CameraBag.app

Marks a neighborhood, off and on, I’ve known so well. It’s a trip back in time, in more than one way, although, at this point there’s a big screen streaming some of sports event in one corner, and the help keeps changing.

Ruby Tuesday

Unrelated:

I would tell you to back off.
