Hardware is whatever point and click I had. Flower, I’m not sure. Bug, I’m sure of. What I missed was the rusted barb wire that was the support for the flower. It was along highway 505, and the only reason I can recall the highway’s number – isn’t that a pneumatic – is the number is the same as the NM area code. Which has changed, as all of NM isn’t the same area code anymore, but it was, at one time, 505.
There were numerous examples of this flower, and from a speeding car, I assumed that it was some kind of mountain rose. Up close? I go from sort of unsure to really unknowing. Not that it matters, in the gentle, cloud strewn mountains, the highway’s narrow verge was thinly but persistently populated with these flowers.
The blindingly green countryside was sprouting in a spring-like abundance, mostly due to Hurricane Alex’s spin-off moisture that soaked the region.
Oh wow.. that’s a pretty flower. Are those its leaves? Very interesting.
My Flower Macro post is up HERE. Happy weekends!
A stunning flower – so bright and beautiful! And the leaves are so spikey!
It looks like flower icing to me and the middle part is peach with a bit of strawberry for toppings!
Beautiful white poppy.
Never could spell mnemonic device properly. Darned Greeks! Beautiful flower surrounded by spiny leaves and barbed wire. There’s a lesson in there, much like the one attached to the lotus image.
Gorgeous shot. It certainly looks like a poppy species to me especially looking at the leaves. They are in full bloom all over right now and just beautiful.
What a great find! Beautiful!
What a gorgeous white flower. It looks like a poppy but the leaves look different.
You are right, the name doesn’t matter, its a fantastic macro.
Have a great weekend!
