Red Monday:
It’s a simple image from Speedy’s – or some name – Stop and Go mart in Victoria, Texas. To get home from the Gulf Coast, I might pass through Victoria. For some reason, it’s not an odd offering, but for some reason, the packaging, the contents, the little bag of dried fruit dusted with pepper, it caught my fancy. Oddities.

I was riding back, and we stopped, gas, I think, and the Virgo was insisting on buying a round. Ice tea, diet coke, nothing for me. Still a long road to unspool in front of us, and wandering the aisle, there it was. I snapped a quick shot, as it spoke to me on so many levels, red, for the theme’s color challenge, hot spices, tropical fruit, half-Spanish, half-English, all South Texas.
It’s a different land, and some people just don’t get that.
That actually looks really good. For that price I would try it on a just because
Wow, wonder what it tastes like?!
Happy RT!
LOLA:)
PS Mine this time is HERE. Hope you can join me!
Interesting. I love mango… and I love chili. Why not :)
Trader Joe’s down the street sells mango con chile in a hanging bag about that size for approximately a dollar more. It’s a different taste, but I like it on occasion, cut up small in a salad. Adds a bit of sweet/hot to the dish. I’ll bet it would be good in stuffing for chicken, too.
I love mangoes and chili too but I haven’t tried them together. Is it yummy?

Interesting combo. I think I should try that.
Must be really hot, the mangoes are so red.
Happy RT!
Wonderful capture–snappy, red and ‘local.’ I love the thought of this delicious combo too.

Yes, it is a different place. I lived there once, during a period of Southern Exposure, though I guess it’s halfway between south and southwest.
