Trudy’s (North Austin)
Hardware: iPhone
Software: Camera+, iPhoto
Location: Burnet Rd. Austin. North Austin.
Trudy’s, I haven’t quite forgotten (and forgiven) the abandonment of one location in south Austin. However the menu item I like best? Still there after all these years.
Sunday morning breakfast, hard-boiled coffee. Migas and fajitas. Used to walk over and order that before I would pull a shift at the bookstore, doing quick and dirty astrology readings. Split the money last I recall, 50/50 with the store. That was then.
Tenure.
That’s the sign from the north location of Trudy’s – and that single menu item? The breakfast of memory.
Never really did get over them closing that South Austin location.
“Breakfast of memory” – what an enigmatic phrase!
Happy Ruby Tuesday,
LOLA:)
btw What’s your favourite car ever?
Hard boiled coffee? Is there a recipe for that? I don’t think I’ve ever had it and I am growing fonder and fonder of all things coffee as I age…

We don’t have Trudy’s in New England. And most typical breakfast joints don’t offer fajitas for breakfast! I love Mexican and Tex-Mex, though, so that breakfast would probably be ok with me!
Red sure does work well on signs, doesn’t it?
The sign has quite a fancy font suggesting a celebration! Unique!
It’s a catch your eye kind of sign. Sounds like they have yummy food, too.
Hard boiled coffee – that sounds different, the mind boggles! Nice sign and story, have a great Ruby Tuesday :-)
