The movie RED

Stars Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, and others. Ernest Borgnine (sp), &c. Any movie at the Alamo Drafthouse is better. Period. Good food, stadium seating, friendly waitress, and the list goes on.

As I’ve noted before, a marginal film, or a chick flick, those are always better at the Alamo Draft House. RED, the movie, was critically dismissed as an also ran, and yet, I found it wonderfully entertaining. Fun. John Malkovich (Sagittarius) plays demented better than anyone else. I mean, he plays crazy better.

Stellar cast. Richard Dreyfus as a nasty supporting character. Just a fun film with a myriad of explosions, gun fire, bullets, blow-ups and the usual action-genre requirements.

I don’t think switching my usual “Enter the Dragon” pizza with a “Raging Bull” pizza mattered that much, but that was one of the best pizzas I ever had.

The movie itself was good, with or without the three-meat pizza. Or whatever it was – dark – can’t see for sure. Just taste.
