Political Notes

I’m not political. I have an opinion. I vote. I’ve voted in every presidential election since I’ve been eligible.

My proudest time to vote? Along with my father, we both voted for Perot.

Odd, it was for the same reason, not happy with either party.

So the SOPA/PIPA block-out and black-out, a success?

I hope so. I’m against piracy but for the free-flow of information.

SOPA was born, partially, of laziness. Instead of doing the hard work of defining what constitutes piracy and infringement of intellectual rights vs. what constitutes free flow of information and properly attributed linkages, it was just easier to try to shackle the entire internet. Why do all that work when you can just slide through and go home to your constituents and brag? Our so-called legislators are an embarrassment to the 55 men who grappled with the concepts and needs of a new nation and came up with a Constituion based on balance of powers. ::standing down from soap box now::
