Sales

I just downgraded my cable service. I have Time-Warner, these days, and for a while, I had the high-speed net option, for an extra ten bucks a month. It seemed worth it at the time, blistering speed, incoming. No faster outgoing, but I don’t upload much more than the weekly video and some web development on the side.

The bill jumped up, jumped up, went up a second time, and finally, it got so high I started to cancel everything. I did, pretty much, and now, I’m back to basic cable modem and basic cable modem speeds. Infrequently, I notice the slower speeds.

Other than Netflix, I don’t download much, just VoIP, and net-cruising. Sloth-like, is more accurate, not surfing.

So Time-Warner sales calls me. Asks if I want to upgrade to the “Business class, with 10x Faster download speeds!” Sales guy. All excited, and hugely annoying.

Somebody in the corporate queue isn’t paying attention because I wanted to spend less, not more.

I’ve talked with AT&T, the only other service provider in this neighborhood. Too bad what they offer is so limited, and they keep trying to sell me a phone, too.

I can’t wait until some other offering is available.

Time-Warner has been impeccable in the past, but they’re getting rude and pushy, which means, it’s time for a new deal.

In my neck of the woods, ATT is the annoying one. No, I don’t want a free phone with a 2 year wireless contract. No, I don’t want to upgrade my basic cable. No. What part of “no” didn’t he understand? Pretty much guarantees that hell will freeze over before I do any more business with them.
