Balcones Fault

Nota Bene: pronounced, Bal-koenAYS Fault.

Balcones Fault. Runs through Austin. Name of the greatest (Austin) band, ever. House band at the old Dillo.

Why China gets big earthquakes?

Miscellaneous:
New movie version, Much Ado About Nothing and Austin in the new iPhone ad? I knew that view — from the spot between the SRV statue and the bat bridge.

That was interesting about that fault line in China. We here in Los Angeles are so focused on the San Andreas Fault, we forget that other places have same/similar situation. We’re due for the Big One any day now.

Balcones Fault is huge–SA and Austin both. One doesn’t usually associate Texas with fault lines, but obviously one doesn’t know *** about geology.

“And one can get one’s ass kicked for referring to oneself as ‘one’?”

Balcones Fault was also an Armadillo World HQ house band.

As an aside, “The Rift” by Walter (Jon) Williams (usually an SF author), is an excellent read about what happens if the New Madrid fault let loose…
