The Luminaries

The Luminaries
Won an award. Poses the modernist astrologist question in the preface: precession.

Astrological notices aside, the text itself reads has highly stylized and rather baroque in finish. Thusly noted, though, it is quite delicious, and the more I consume, the more I want to consume.

Biggest problem? I’m reading a library copy — eBook. The fine, hand-drawn astrology clues are lost in the electronic media.

The Luminaries – Eleanor Catton

Reason – Mercury
Desire – Venus
Force – Mars

I do love Bexar Biblio Tech, part of the Bexar County library system.
