The Wolf of Wall Street:
Based on a novel? Based on a true story? I’m not sure. I wasn’t really that interested in the movie, but it was the best selection on MLK Day.

Bad movies are good at the Alamo, and good movies are better.

The food server took a look at my shorts and sandals, as I pulled a flannel shirt around me, “I’ll ask them to turn the heat up.” Pizza, half-hour of filler, then the movie. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the acting, but a visceral, drawling, bad 80’s hair Matt McConaughey sealed the goodness with the opening. Good ride, good arc, twisty little ending. Perfect pitch. Surprisingly good movie.
