Things in Texas that are different
Distance — astrofish.net/travel — I’ve worked, literally, all over this state. All over this Great State. When I’m in El Paso, LA is closer than Houston. Everyone has now heard about Austin, perhaps San Antonio, too, but Lubbock is a “Fur piece” from here. Maybe 8 hours in a truck. Even if it’s a car, call it a truck.

Standup Guy
A novel by Stuart Woods. Previously, with all the linkage, here.

I read the library copy while a hardback was sitting on the shelf. Still gripping, fun, and this time, with the hint of a new Serge Storm haunting me, a thin link to Florida. Tenuous, at best, but then, as I’ve often observed, my grip on reality is thin, on a good day.

Quick read, not terribly challenging, but enough plot and story to keep it gripping.
