Vincit Qui Primum Gerit
The quote, loosely translated as “The winner gets there first,” is from an Army Air Corp transport aircraft — piston-powered airplane. History. Back when the distinction between right and wrong was more clearly delineated.
I have Air Force neighbors, officers, on either side. My liberal, longhair look belies the fact that I have a huge amount of respect, and familial ties, to the Army Air Corp.
Just a short, roundabout way of establishing creditability. Besides, the story behind the quote is fascinating to me.
That’s a lead in for looking at comparative internet (digital pipeline) speeds, as I’ve experienced them. So far, the clear winner is the El Paso Airport, oddly enough. In your face, Austin and San Antonio?
Speed Test:
While in Grace’s trailer, I did two speed tests, internets speeds.
The home wifi was 10 down and 1 up, but the LTE was wicked fast, 17 down, 9 up.
Compare with San Antonio’s down and up, then Austin’s down and up, then on the beach, in Corpus Christi (Mustang Island, really).

Maybe a month or so back, I was watching the internet speeds in Corpus Christi, bay side. More curious than concerned, but the fast AT&T LGE 4G thing was blistering fast, slowed, no doubt by some traffic — or faulty memory.
Those call letters I used? Most of them are airport codes, with Mustang island being noted by the highway sign, NAS-CCAD.
Stands for Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi Army Depot.
The Devil’s Elbow has a long military, commercial history.
Smaller markets with a newer rollout have higher speeds, greater bandwidth.
