Pepper Porn

Pepper Porn:

Price comparison for Pepper Porn, which, I might add, is a weird affectation that I have for grabbing images of peppers, in the various grocery stores.

One example, here, is drawn from recent travels in Northern California, just above the Bay Area. The other? Local produce of the fancy equivalent of Whole Foods, seen here.

Better yet, at the now famous Chicho Boys Farmer’s Market?

$0.79 per pound, and arguably, better peppers. Less distance from farm to table.

California, the peppers, probably from similar, if not identical sources? $2.99 per pound. In South Texas? $0.98 per pound. In my neighborhood? $0.79 per pound.

“Pepper porn” is some kind of strange affiliation that I have with fresh produce, from the capiscum family. Can’t explain it, can’t seem to find rhyme or reason for it. I’m just drawn to a bing pictures of either jalapeño or serranopeppers, rolling around in their bins at the stores.
