Price of Free

Redux: the Price of Free

A perspicacious Virgo lass of excellent proportions, sent me a link about Shakespeare and the science of Shakespeare. Redux: the Price of Free?

Two themes, one showcasing my blatant misunderstanding of Shakespeare’s canon, the other having to re-introduce the theme, about the price of free.

As I read the article, not the book, just the article about the book, I could detect holes in the logic, as there’s the masques employed in a number the late plays, The Tempest came to mind. Just my own, understanding, or maybe, misunderstanding of the characters in the plays, with their plot lines. I do know, for a fact, the totality of the plays are shot through with astrological references.

Astrology and astronomy were the same science in that era.

I suspect the evidence to connect the points in the thesis that Shakespeare used that source as the source for Cymberline is thin, indeed. Interesting, and possibly close to an old favorite of mine, the Shakespeare Conspiracy Theories.

The site that the article was on, that piqued my interests. Not the first time I looked there, but I was examining the underpinnings of the site. The voluntary donation/subscription, I liked that. I’ve toyed with moving to that, too. I liked the numbers, and I personally feel a volunteer setup is superior.

I’d like to steal some of the verbiage, too, in the footer, about this site costing thousands of dollars to run, and the ads from Amazon, cost nothing more to the buyer, but provide critical funding to help keep these sites alive.

I liked how the price of free was clearly marked as not free.
