Legally, I’ve been an ordained minister for over a quarter of a century, back before it was just a website thing. Papers and all. Call me, “The Rev.” Perfectly legal. Seriously. Two churches.

The backdrop for the wedding party was the State Capital, the Pink Dome. Fitting for that lad, as a great number of people in attendance were born a few blocks away at the old Seton (medical center) – with the oddity that makes it better? Sean’s grandfather delivered babies, some of them there that night.

Fun was had by all despite the bitter, bone-chilling cold.

His father was in nice suit, Sean’s buddy from Seguin, he also wore a tie. I had on a requisite Day of the Dead shirt, and the rest? Half the folks were from the tattoo parlors – do the math on available skin and ink. Then, too, his childhood friends.

Bitterly cold with a frigid, arctic air. Earlier that very week, five days? I was in the middle of the bay comfortably wearing shorts, fishing away.
