Classic Vinyl
Classic Vinyl in the Big Box store. They call it Classic Vinyl, too.
Love me some Grateful Dead, as well, but that’s not what this is about. Last Dead album I bought was a copy of a copy, must’ve been the third or fourth time I’ve made this purchase, but I snagged a copy of “From the Mars Hotel”, because … No justification, it’s a personal favorite with evocative lyrics so poetic that carry depth of meaning for me, and, no justification, I like it.
I got it as a CD, that’s twice now, and maybe once as a for real album.

Between the time I caught the image of Classic Vinyl, and posting about seeing actual record bins in a big box store, one other trip had the weirdest of observation, being a young female, in a catholic school uniform, replete with knee-socks, and shepherding parental figure. The kid fingered and longed for a certain album, and who uses vinyl these days?
I bought a book, a gift for one lady I know, bookish – just my type, and in the check out line, the mom (or mom-like) person questioned the teen, but paid for an album that is clearly twice that child’s age. Fresh pressing, but still.
