What Images Stick

“You take a lot of pictures of food?”

Not me. I can’t locate, but I know it is buried in the older weblogs someplace, I had an image of perfect “street” tacos, Al Pastor, from back in the day in Austin. Good stuff, excellent presentation and and “street tacos” before they were a hipster item.

Apparently, I had one image of food that was particularly evocative.

South of downtown, in San Antonio, the prevalent condiment seemed to be, at least to me, seemed to be “green sauce,” which was frequently a jalapeno based salsa. A bit more bite.

Never can tell, What Images Stick.

The purpose of the running photo-weblog, my side-project, its goal is to see what sticks, and that image came up in rarified air, academics and all that, so I was curious.

The diner, or diner-like food is important, the quality of the little, nondescript taquerias has always fascinated me. Witness the lost image of street tacos.

I really should dig that one up, as I’m sure a copy is still buried on the site someplace.

To answer the question? No, I don’t take a lot of pictures of food.
