Coyote Blue

Coyote Blue

Introductions and time-lines vary, but I had that suspicion that I’d read this book before. Early piece from the epic oeuvre of Christopher Moore, the left-coast, cult(ish) author. I like some of his better than others.

It’s an earlier spin on the native figure of the Coyote.

“Love: the sickest of Irony’s sick jokes. The place where logic and order go to die.”
Coyote Blue – Christopher Moore. Page 233.

Sidebar item: Calliope is the muse of epic poetry, cf., Calliope.

Another sidebar? Echoes of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

Bonus: the character Minty Fresh, in the flesh.

“This is like being stuck in some Kafkaesque Roadrunner cartoon”

Another bonus round, from King Lear:
“As flies to wanton boys are we to th’ gods,
They kill us for their sport.” 4.i.37–8

If an author quotes Shakesepare, I kind of check for context. All correct.

Interesting, if slightly irreverent take on a modern coyote tale.
