Lather Rinse Repeat

Lather Rinse Repeat

The adage, as seen here: Lather Rinse Repeat.

There are — at least — two running commentaries about them that term, “Lather Rinse Repeat.”

The first is that it was an advertising jingle that sold billions of containers of a certain brand of shampoo.

The second is that it is a term that implies innate redundancy.

To me, the term implies a certain kind of efficiency. Another version?

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

The image itself is from a fishing buddy’s girlfriend’s — too complicated to explain. I just liked the image itself, as that’s one of those messages I’m prone to espouse.

Is it about hair products from the so-called Golden Age of advertising? Is it a meme for current conditions?
