The Wall
Pink Floyd’s song was on the muzak at the Alamo Drafthouse, and I’m sure that was just a coincidence.
Yeah, just coincidence — the movie we were seeing? The Wall with Marky Mark.
Universally panned by critics, seeing it at the Alamo Drafthouse was a bonus. The teaser reels were all martial arts dub, and some Chinese dance/song stuff. Plus some bad monsters from back in the day.
Not knowing much about the film, other than not much hype, all I needed. I was hoping for some action, and not a lot of dialogue.
Delivered!
Action and not a lot of acting.
So a warrior travels to a foreign land, does battle with a monster, cuts an arm off the monster, and then, eventually, with the help of plucky natives, defeats the monster's mom. Them mother-figures are a piece of work, huh.
The Wall
Beowulf, I mean seriously. Even a mom. Hard to kill monster mom.
Either way, good film, but then, I saw it at the Alamo, where even bad films are enjoyable.
