Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast of Champions – Kurt Vonnegut

1973 release, must’ve been years later when I read it the first time, at an impressionable age, I might add. Probably devoured it, greedy, young mind.

While, and I can’t locate it now, I did carry around a paperback version for years and years, it was one of the books that shaped my thinking — and understanding — of our modern world. Post-modern, now.

Re-reading a digital library version brought back a flood of dormant memories, and also made me wonder, as an impressionable child, reading such strong satire, unsure if I grasped the elements.

Stylish and classic. Poignant, even in the days of the inter-webs.

The author’s simplistic style got me thinking, and I might try that sort of “penmanship” for my horoscopes. Be an interesting diversion.
