Good Omens – Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett

Can’t recall when, how far back, but must’ve been more than a dozen years, then looking at the copyright of the edition I had, 1990/91, I’m guessing it was a long time ago. I do recall the joy, pleasure, and sheer glee the novel brought to me. It was fun. Esoteric with a working knowledge of the various mythos to make it even more fun.

Rereading a digital copy now, pulling my paperback off the shelf long enough to notice a good indication I bought it used, with a Seattle address in the front cover, yeah, best guess it was used.

“All you needed to become a Satanist was an effort of will.” Page 58.

Good versus Evil.

I forgot how much I enjoyed this book. In part, it takes a square shot at most near all conventional mythologies, from my esoteric “magik” friends to ripping off huge chunks of the facade of the Judeo-Christian mythologies.

“Leave no gods behind!”

I know nothing of the recent series, or movies. I did see, from an author-feed, the remaining guy was watching as the book came to life on-screen.

As text ,I dearly loved it, and I dearly loved it a second time, and I would recommend it, if some of the references might be a bit dated. I lived through that decade, I recall.
