Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2

Sequel — a good sequel? Don’t break anything in the franchise. A little extra snark? Sure. Self-deprecating humor? Good.

A really good sequel expands on the original and adds no new value. Better jokes. Better one-liners. Better attack on the fourth wall, with self-referential humor that is a little over the top.

Not exactly high-brow art form, but delightful sarcasm and wit, saddled with a certain amount of bad humor. Not “family friendly” despite the encouragement at the begin. Hopelessly violent.

Franchise built on a cartoon character, so there is a certain amount of cartoon violence, sure that works. Couple of good scenes. Lots of them all held together with a thin story-line.

Deadpool 2

In theaters now. Worth the price of admission.

Pretty sure I saw the first one in at the Alamo, too. Just makes sense. Excellent theatre. Way to see a movie.
