Blink
There’s an app for that!
Pawing through a copy of my Pink Cake collection of quotes, I stumbled across an older quote from a former head of (something) Apple Computers, “If you have computer and don’t have a modem, you are bizarre,” or something to that effect.

It introduces the notion that all these devices are connected to a frail, web-like network.
Been more than 20 years now, I discovered I could link from the opening statement on a webpage. Been a little less than 20 years now that I discovered I could make some pennies per link, especially with Amazon.
The starting point was linking to an Amazon-based product, notably a Shakespeare play, from the beginning of each horoscope. Thought that was cool, and I got a mercenary eye towards this business.
The old, hippie days and ideals of link-love for the sake of linking? Yeah, pretty much gone now. More mercenary and even predatory, to some. turns out there’s a whole business dedicated to just such enterprises, turning links into a cash. I’m less interested in that, but I do want, if I link to a book, for example, I do want a monetary reward for a sale. Like a commission?
Blink
My experience from the back-end side of the business? The Amazon links don’t pay as well as they used to. Just that simple, the market is diluted, and frankly, I don’t have the time, or energy, to build the links anymore.
While I still buy CDs as CDs? Most of the music is now digital, and the Apple way that works, not to mention the way the Apple Books reader is so superior, yes, that’s a product and link that I can share.
While it takes at least 90 days, I think, to get paid? Apple has been better, and the revenue stream, tiny bits of change, is nice, and always a pleasant surprise when a few dollars, about the same amount as an over-priced cup of coffee, shows up in my account.
Perfect example, I think, these “books” are only available in digital format, the Fixer Series. Since I’m reading more recent work by the same author, I’m thinking that the work is all digital in dispersal, for the time being.
To make the process of building the requisite affiliate links easier? New — new to me — app called Blink. Not a steep learning curve, but not quite point and shoot, still, a useable format.
Blink
Blink works for Apple’s App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, and so forth. I mostly just use it for building book links.
Came from a source that I trust, and someone who scours the web for the latest and greatest, so there is that. I’m unsure of the longevity of the product line, but for now, it makes link building a little less onerous.
