Online last night, I find a quick mention that a 1.5 million bet was placed on the Rams, and that skewed the Las Vegas line. Or something.

In therefore, the bet would have no outcome on the game itself. But it did change the way the bets were being placed. In other words, an outside force — like an observed, outside phenomena — changed the lines and thereby changed the potential outcome.
