Jupiter in Capricorn
Jupiter enters the Tropical Zodiac sign of Capricorn on December 3, 2019. Jupiter turns retrograde on May 15, 2020, at 27° Capricorn, and turns direct on September 12, 2020 at 17° Capricorn, finally exiting Capricorn on December 20, 2020.I’ve got a single card, and I was mucking about at the rock shop in Austin, running free amongst the crystals. With an inspired moment, I tried to frame a certain card against the backdrop of the shop’s various collections.
Purple Amethyst seemed about right.
Jupiter is expansion, a planet of unlimited potential, and the purple amethyst — always a seems like a Sagittarius stone, a perfect Jupiter compliment. Jupiter is the planet associated with Sagittarius, and the royal color of purple. Then, the card itself?
Two of disks, Thoth Deck. An aged and beaten deck of cards, been in my travel gear for more than 20 years now. Been halfway around the world, and all over Texas dozens of times.

Change. Change is coming, and this tends to be in the real world of “work,” not some airy-fairy, arty-farty metaphysical realm, but practical, hands-on, day-in and day-out process of making an income.
The card itself had the symbols, and the message, to combine a couple of elements, the card is merely a pictograph of the images that the planetary symbols evoke.
It’s going to be about change. Change directions. Change in work. More money. More tangible results from practical effort.
When I write, it’s less about a a stated destination, and more along the lines of an exploration. The phrase I was seeking?
- “Tangible results from practical effort.”
Seems a bit pedestrian, in a way, but it properly conveys, in my mind, the essence of the immediate year’s worth of Jupiter influence.
