Sagittarius

Sagittarius I’ve long trafficked in being a clown. A Sagittarius clown, if one believes the hype. Even I don’t believe everything written about me. But the next couple of days are kind of scary in that, there’s an opposing pressure, and keeping a happy face in the madness that is loose upon us? Not always easy. There’s the other side of this side, though, of the clown, and being a clown is a serious business. The clown is more important now than ever before. The approach, though, our jovial, outgoing, loud, wise-cracking Sagittarius selves would be best served if we toned it down. Yes, birthdays, and happy birthday to them, and yes, holiday, and yes, the world’s gone mad, but most of all? A more subdued approach. I didn’t say lose the happiness, just a more gentle approach benefits all. Besides, as a Sagittarius, isn’t it our job to help buoy everyone around us, no matter what sign? Just a more taciturn approach to the jovial nature we aim for? Sure, that works.

Capricorn

Sticky notes. Used the example before, and I’m sure it will pop up again. This varies from Capricorn to Capricorn. However, in the simplest form, a simple yellow square of paper with a harmless, odorless fleeting adhesive strip on one side. I use these notes as reminders. I use these as — literally — bookmarks. There’s one hanging on my current computer monitor, and that sticky’s been there for a year or more. (Hint: it’s an IP address.) No, I don’t put passwords on the notes, but some login information that might useful? Sure. But mostly, these are reminders. What garrulous — Mars and Saturn — Capricorn wants, needs, might like?

Sticky notes. Simple, easy-to-use, can perform a hundred different functions, a simple sticky note. I fold one over and stick to the back of my phone, so I remember to get something while I’m out. I had three stops I needed to make, grocery, pharmacy, post box. I listed an abbreviated version of that list, and I remembered to do everything without consulting the list. But since I had it stuck to the back of the phone? I didn’t forget. Simple as that. Might not fix everything, and it’s no cure, but as a stop-gap solution for Capricorn?

Aquarius

There are very few tedious details that I have to deal with. However, I did change up banking, and that meant, over time, I had to get all the new routing information in place. Some would complain, but it was a step towards a much more streamlined and simplified version of the backside of what I do, so there is that. Simplified snd streamlined. Easier to manage.

Most important for Aquarius?

Fewer moving parts. Look at what’s here, looks at where you want to be, and look at the most expedient way to get “there” from “here,” how ever that looks. Quickest route. Shortest route. Simplest route. We’re getting ready for another transition as planets shift locations, and that means, as an Aquarius, time to get that material ready. Some work you can do in advance, and some of this, it falls to getting these details sorted out so you can get paid — eventually.

Pisces

Old trick, gift giving by the zodiac, and a bit of subterfuge I’m really unwilling to unleash at this time, world events being what they are. But in Pisces Life, there’s a hint that something will be settling down. In a few weeks, Jupiter exits, and in a few weeks, Mars slows his backwards crawl, and in few more weeks, Mercury goes retrograde. All of this is according to the cosmic clock, and paying closer attention to the details makes this more manageable for gentle Pisces. All in the details, and how you look at those details. Mentioned before, but I use a zen-like, in/out box. Incoming mail, outgoing mail, packages to be opened or shipped? All in the same space. A bit confusing for some, but stick with me, it means I have to address the in/out box every day, and that means, there is less build-up. More confusing means less confusion.

Aries

As the annual Winter Solstice approaches, there’s a tiny amount of advance work required by every decent Aries. What’s coming in a few weeks is a giant, temporary obstacle. It’s a challenge of epic proportions that only a decent Aries can surmount. Next few days? Look: this isn’t a surprise, this isn’t catching you “unawares,” not a hidden problem, right? I was looking at a close to 2-week build-up to this tricky point, a day or two before Xmas proper, and how this affects this next week or two? Up to you, but you can see what’s due, so time to prepare. Mars will probably sap your motivation, and that’s as problematic as anything else, but you’ve got two weeks to prepare, less procrastination and more Aries action.

Taurus

When I see a movie version of a Shakespeare play? I understand that it is a movie version, and I understand that dialogue, scenes, cuts, and other editing emendations are necessary to make it work. I awoke from nightmare-like dream, sweating, and panting, worried that I couldn’t remember any of the lines. I was frightened that I was on stage, and I couldn’t recall any of the passages. What’s worse, having seen a recent version of the play I was in, I knew some of the passages, maybe not all. However, in my panicked state? Stage-fright, that is, state-fright in a dream. The symbolism might be lost on me. I’m not an actor. I’m not a painter, either, nor am I a poet. I know my strengths. I stick to what I can do. As a message for Taurus, deciphering the dream sequence I had? Stick to what you are good at. Simply put, stick to your strengths right now.

Gemini

No one ever pays attention to horoscopes in the month of December. Folks get too caught up in Xmas, or whatever, some celebration or another. Usually marketed as Xmas, but again, I’m not one to care. The Gemini planets, though, spell out another series of events that require copious Gemini attention. Part of this is the old problem with Mr. Mars, and we’ve covered that. He’s not moving as fast, but he is still very retrograde in Gemini. But beyond that? There’s a sense of looking at the bigger picture, and that’s not always a Gemini strength. Instead of chasing down smallest details on the current iteration of facts as you understand them? Think about stepping backwards to look at an overall image of what’s in play. Think about looking a the bigger permutations if you follow up without proposed Gemini action. What does that mean, farther down that Gemini trail?

Cancer

As we watch the heavens spin and turn, marching towards the Winter Solstice, there are couple of early flares during Sagittarius. Just warning signs? Hopeful markers towards a better future? These are less than real flares, but not without flair, is one way to think about it. For Moon Children, the lovely Cancer corner of the sky? The motion of the inner lights — Mercury and Venus — balanced against the Pluto thing? What this means heading towards the next week? These are warning signs. These are like the little labels on the side, the various cautions, the sign that suggests we do, or don’t do, a particular task. So it depends on how willing you are to listen to what the tiny flares suggest. The warning signs, did you read them, too? Did you follow the instructions?

“The ‘destructions,’ you mean?”

Call it what you want, the warning signs are all over the place. I suggest, as long as Venus/Mercury are opposite your good Cancer self? Think about following the instructions — to the letter.

The Leo

I can’t explain it, but I fished this one lake, over and over, season after season, getting real familiar with its hidden gem spots. However, for some reason, me all decked in long pants, and heavy jackets, sweaters, hoodie, and so forth? For some reason, that one fateful December day? The fish I caught that day seemed like they were cleaner. Felt cleaner. The water didn’t have it’s usually scummy layers, a heady mixture of pollution, effluvia from the power plant, motor oil, and the organic back-wash from the shoreline. Just felt cleaner. Maybe a relative calm in the previous weeks? Maybe less wintery traffic? Deer season and gas prices had a lot to do with it. Plus that threat of cold. But pulling up fish, pictures on the web someplace, but the fish felt cleaner, more robust, and although they were fewer and further between catches, it all felt cleaner. The crisp air? Steam rising from the lake’s surface forming a low cloud-like atmosphere. Passing a stand of cypress, with the spooky roots and branches clawing at us? Nothing has really changed, but the current astrological weather, like a cold December morning — feels like it’s all cleaner, here in Leo Land. Enjoy. Enjoy the illusion.

Virgo

First, understand that I don’t understand “Fiscal year ending” terms. The accounting year, the fiscal year, and the calendar year should all refer to the exact same time. Same calendar (Gregorian) since 1592, based on the earlier, but similar Julian calendar. Just in the last decades, I keep getting data that suggests the “fiscal” calendar is different, or the business year runs from some arbitrary date to some arbitrary date. Don’t bother trying to explain this to me.

Don’t bother trying to explain this to me.

In my world, my businesses? Works out just fine. I prefer to keep all of this super simple. One set of books, one simplified accounting system, same tax guy for a dozen years or more. Getting this material in order, getting that calendar-driven material in shape? Part of what this is about. Mostly what it’s all about. Set the holiday insanity aside, and that’s all that matters.

Libra

We’ve played this game before. The time as we all approach the holiday season? The run-up to Solstice/Xmas — or whatever winter celebration there is? It’s all on fast approach, and while merriment, gift-giving, and parties are important? The looming influences are a bit frightening.

If it’s not “in the can,” then “let’s not.”

You didn’t get one of the prized toys for some kid? Heartbreak on Xmas morning, but there is no need to fight and claw you gentle Libra way forward only to be summarily dismissed. It’s not worth the trouble, and looking further afield than just the next day or two? That’s what is so important — it’s not worth the trouble. You don’t have it by now? Best if you wait this one out.

Scorpio

I’ve looked at a numerous desk arrangements, and what’s always been a critical feature? The lighting. I’ve had a desk in front of a window, to the side of the window, and for certain portion of my life, the desk looked over the lake in Austin from the vantage point of a long-gone trailer park. But the lighting has always been problem. I’ve tried numerous bolt-on, clip-on lamps, and none of those ever seemed to function as advertised. They did provide illumination, and many were infinitely adjustable, but the mounting apparatus always seemed flimsy, and insecure. What finally worked, for now? I have a desk lamp with a heavy base, sitting on a shelf next to the desk. While I loathe taking up valuable bookshelf space with something other than books? This arrangement has proven to be the most durable, most stable, and for me, the most enlightening. It’s “desk adjacent,” and that’s the idea for Scorpio — what we’re looking for, holiday madness and all? We’re looking for Scorpio-adjacent, maybe Scorpio-compliant accessories that fit. That work. That seem to provide the right amount of illumination. Which is what we’re looking for, at this time. The right arrangement. The right Scorpio arrangement.
