God is in the details

God is in the details

From the current iteration of the fineprint:

“Ethically produced by hand at a shop that pays a living wage, has reasonable working hours and a good work environment.”

Amusing, at best, and a little disingenuous in reality.

The hours are long. I’ve worked from 6 in the morning until after 11 at night. Working lunch, as it were, as well. I’m rather used to eating while sitting — now standing — in front of monitor to watch material scroll by.

God is in the details

So that detail, “produced by hand,” that’s true. Living wage? Depends on the season. But the works hours are often unreasonable. So I wonder, is it true?
