My Dirty California

My Dirty California

Another digital blurb recommendation.

When I finished the last book I was reading, late one evening, I cast about for what to read next. I have a bunch stuff on hold at the various libraries, a couple of free amazon books, and now, my proprietary ebook reader apps has jumped up to include some publisher and the stupid B&N app, as well.

As I started reading My Dirty California, the writing was crisp, dialogue sharp and pointed. Made it more interesting.

Clean, not quite spartan, but dialed up a notch by dialing it down? Not sure the explanation works, but it does cover the question, and there was a shifting timeline.

“The authentic culture made it hip, which brought wealthy people, which drove up the price and made it hard for the original authentic folks to stay.” Page 278.

Got towards the halfway point and I didn’t want to put it down, just a thriller, but with a unique set of voices telling the same tale, from different view points. Kind of fascinating way to tell a story.

Good book.
