Obsession

Stuart Woods, Capricorn, passed last summer? His literary output is amazing, and the hits keep coming. I got roped into the books, sex, money, prestige, left-leaning politics, but not too much.

The prose itself is what hooked me and kept me coming back. Old girlfriend turned me onto the author, and now I have a bunch of the books, 60 or more.

This is another one, a supporting character who gets his own role.

It’s a bit of a ride, mostly against a backdrop with some obvious insider knowledge, about the way films are made, and what that looks like. Ersatz Hollywood glitz and glamor. Intrigue. Starlets and movie stars.

I read the book, off and on, over a period of three days, and I can usually finish one of these in a single evening.

The last quarter of the novel, as usual, I just couldn’t be bothered to do anything else. Fun reading for me. While Stuart Woods himself is no longer on this earthly plane, his spirit lives on, and the way the book was marketed, I have to wonder if it is more than just the character names, like possibly some sort of notes left behind. Might never know, doesn’t matter, fun book for me.

I have to admit, this was the author that made me think of “Hardy Boys” books, all those years ago, and now, into the future.
