With fresh suspicions?

Horoscopes for 2-17-2026

Pisces

Pisces I adore certain Pisces people. At least one will roll her eyes, and claim I’m not telling the truth, but that’s not the issue. There will always be the one. As this is a birthday time, and the Lunar New Year starts like, just moments, maybe 18 hours before Pisces proper starts? It’s like a little gift from the heavens, this year, looking forward, and how this plays out? Don’t let the uncharacteristic exuberance overcome the current conditions. Excited? Sure. Looking forward? Yes. Good year ahead? For sure. Brimming with quiet enthusiasm? Sure. Leave it at that, “quiet enthusiasm.” Happy Birthday!

Aries

At the beginning of this career, I was promised a “golden watch” e-mail address. It was, supposedly, an address I would have for the rest of my life, and even beyond. One of the executives suggested the term, “That’s like a golden watch; have it forever.” In the tech world, “forever” is, at best, a maybe a decade. Oftentimes, much less. By running my own server, I do have an e-mail address, two in fact, that I’ve had for more than 26? 27? Maybe 28 years, now. One of those addresses is a clear derivative of that original, “golden watch email address.” There are three “departments” that Aries is dealing with, “corporate,” “legal,” and “marketing.”

Each of those three departments, usually it’s under the umbrella term, “Corporate,” but each department makes an Aries promise, that this will be for a lifetime; it will never change. Aries: forever is a long time. Careful with those promises made by “corporate” — “forever” might only be in tech terms, a few years, at best.

Taurus

I was stopped at a traffic light. Little, fuel-efficient car, old girlfriend’s hybrid. I glanced in the rear view, as the light cycled green, then yellow, and there was no forward motion. I looked again, and the SUV behind me bounced into the bumper of the car I was in. I was pissed. Stopped, at a light, behind traffic, and for no reason whatsoever, I got hit, just dented bumper, but on those little cars? It can be expensive. Half an hour of exchanging numbers, insurance, and getting driver’s license information. Cop had to make a non-injury report. Then, because I was third in the line, someone hit the guy who was hit me? I had to let someone else untangle the mess. In this situation, third in the line, but suffering the more costly damage? Best let someone else figure out who owes whom. File it and let the insurance adjusters and lawyers earn their dollars. The Lunar New Moon is a set-up like this, third in line, not your Taurus fault, but it can be inconvenient, a bit of a time-waste, and generally not fun at all. However, patience, perseverance, and gentle touch, no yelling, just gradually calling back the three insurance agencies got me where I was going. Just took time. Taurus, it will get done; it’s not your fault; patience is the key.

Gemini

The Lunar New Year introduces an element of change for gentle Gemini. I’ve got twin archetypes in mind for this element of change, one is a special Gemini who is resistant to change unless it is of her own making. The other embraces change on every front, at every moment of every day. However, both archetypes? There’s a resistance to the change that shows up. “I mean, do we have to change that?” Yes, consider the nature of the forces at work, and be willing to adjust, adopt, and accept that there will be adjustments, simple course corrections, new material revealed, and older material reviled. The little key phrase to watch for? “Because we’ve always done it this way,” and when you hear that, dread that in some form? That’s where the new directions are showing up in the coming days. Adjust, adapt, adopt, and accept. “But, but we’ve always done it this way.”

Cancer

Influenced by a former neighbor, I got on a kick of having plastic skeletons arranged in my garden. Those plastic, old Halloween decorations, those plastic skeletons would be arrayed around, and on, my pink flamingos. A little odd, but then, I never made any claims about normalcy so there is that. As an oddity, sure, and one year, it was the perfect Xmas image. I had plans to have a whole flock of miniature pink flamingos all being ridden by tiny skeleton figures, but that I never quite got it all together. However, as a plan, that was an idea that held merit for my own, somewhat twisted, point of view. Again, I was influenced by a former neighbor who went all out on Halloween decorations (year round). This is about planning, then planting ideas. For the Cancer, sign of the crab, Moon Children? There’s a germ of an idea, and it’s worth developing, see where it goes. My idea was never fully realized, but then, what did show up was kind of fun. See how that works?

The Leo

Which one came first. More correctly, “Which one came first?” Logically, there tends to be a casual relationship between event one and event two. “This causes that.” Simple enough, but what if “that” happened first, and does “that” cause “this” to happen? Back to the question, which came first? The Lunar New Year, the start to a fresh cycle in Leo-land is about what action to take in respect to the outcome of those decisions. Here’s my big hint, and a reveal: don’t bother trying to figure out which one came first, was it this one or that one? Doesn’t matter. What does matter, moving your glorious Leo self forward? What does matter is how you react to the influences, and how you accommodate those changes. Which one came first? Don’t waste time trying to figure that out. The Leo time is too precious for that. One of them caused the other, and which one was first? Do we really care?

Virgo

Targets. Goals. Ideas. That’s backwards. I would surmise, the first part of this equation should be the idea, the Virgo ideas. Those develop into some Virgo goals. Those stated Virgo goals then become tangible targets Virgo can aim for. There’s a process, and an order to the way this develops. The point is that the original form I suggested, “Targets. Goals. Ideas,” that format is the original starting point but the order is out of whack. In this next couple of days, develop the ideas, then set reasonable, maybe a few unreasonable, goals. Once the ideas give way to goals, then there’s the idea of targets, measured steps that occur, and those metered targets allow a way to gauge Virgo process, progress toward the goals, which lead back to the ideas. While it looks like a closed loop to me? I’m not Virgo, and standing outside, I can see the whole route. Get the Virgo process in order. Another way to see this one? Plan your Virgo work then work your Virgo plan.

Libra

An over-used, to the point of trite, expression? The coin. It has two sides, represents an either-or-situation, one best left to the fates. But looking a little closer, I saw a two-faced coin, so it was the same to the coin, either way. The expression for this week? I boiled it down to “Two sides of the same coin.” Either one wins. Or either one loses. There is no “right” call. Which, oddly enough, is the right call. Understand that this isn’t a binary situation anymore. As Saturn moves opposite from Libra, the binary, right/wrong, black/white, on/off switches to a lopsided, but ultimately correct indication of the right way to proceed. Problem: you might not like it, at first. Doesn’t mean that the indicated route isn’t best. Yeah, I know, it’s a Saturn thing.

Scorpio

What I was looking for? A “placeholder.” It was supposed to be a simple graphic file, just a simple piece of electronic detritus that would serve as a, more or less, generic door-stop. The search turned into an obsessive trip down a miasmic warren filled with older images. What I discovered? “Simple” is very hard to accomplish. Simple. Straightforward. Devoid of fancy, frilly, affectations that amount to nothing but spurious and useless window dressings that add no value to the image itself. It was the goal, and then, after spending an inordinate amount of time, almost wasted hours, digging through the archives, and then, onto a spare hard drive, and then, looking through an old stash of flash media drives, I came up with a simple enough placeholder. It was one of the original ones that I started with, and since I didn’t need to change much? I just used that. While far from perfect, hours of digging suggested that I stick with what I already had in place. Simple enough, and for Scorpio? Simple, even if you have to go digging, simple works best.

Sagittarius

I am not one — myself — I am not one to rehearse opening remarks. Or any speech. I tried, at some point, to memorize a few passages from the Shakespeare canon, but even at that, I was largely unsuccessful. I can’t even read the stuff aloud, and it leaves me even in more awe of seasoned performers. Still, this is a time that it helps to have some carefully vetted material on hand, something that is well within the Sagittarius grasp, to me, it looks like short, rehearsed passages. Like lines from a Shakespeare play, maybe a dozen lines or so, fired up and ready to deploy. Still, the notion that this is properly thought out, planned, poignant, and yet, appears to be a typical Sagittarius “off-the-cuff” comment? All of that works into this week’s energies. Rehearse. At the very least? Think it through before we say it.

Capricorn

In my mind, three separate ideas popped up, but in my mind? They all ran together, Planting, planning, and plotting. Maybe plan a plot to plant would be a better image, but then, this is Capricorn, and like one of my family mottos? “Never the easy way.” Where I live, the ground will be frozen, or near frost-like conditions, at some point in this six-week window, so the idea of actual planting is best left to a latter date. But the idea of plotting what action to take, and then, planning how to achieve that action, what to do then how to do it? That holds merit for Capricorn. Planting, planning, and plotting. In some order that most makes sense. Happy Lunar New Year.

Aquarius

How did we get here? Was it that easy? In an off-hand manner, I tend to joke about how I fell into horoscopes as a method of expression. With enough of a technical mindset, I was always seeking a frame to hang material upon. The notion of the “horoscope blank,” 12 signs that get me some sort of framework, and this is all supposed to make some kind of sense? That idea works rather well for me. There’s supposedly a cohesive thread that will run throughout the whole week’s set of messages, about what to do, what not to do, how to move head, and what constitutes the most expedient route towards an individual’s success. My fine little Aquarius friend? We know there isn’t a lot that makes sense at this time. Realizing that, understanding, then taking small, seemingly imperceptible steps towards a goal? That helps. Small steps. Tiny steps. Barely inching forward step. See how that works. There’s a greater framework involved, but sometimes, we can’t all see it.
