The Future Saints

The Future Saints

Rock and roll, plus a ghost. Talk about haunting performances?

Hanging around in Austin, at the beginning of my life, I have memories of bands. Buddies in bands, music that was fun, and more than one example that feels so similar to the book: a band that didn’t quite make it out the door. Talented musicians, but that was old Austin, and its velvet rut. Just never quite translated to the big hits.

“…presents this double consciousness as the curse of the artist: when you’re highly sensitive and in the habit of mining your interior life for art…” page 294.

The nature of art?

Romance at the end of Rock’n’Roll?

Very good book. Enjoyable.
